Feb.14--CH Robinson's profits in 2015 increased by 13.3 per cent compared to the previous year to US$509.7 million on revenues that remained flat at $13.48 billion.
The third-party logistics (3PL) provider's fourth quarter 2015 net income rose by 12.1 per cent year on year to $126.58 million despite revenues falling 4.4 per cent to $3.21 billion.
A breakdown of the fourth quarter results show that truckload net revenues were up 13.4 per cent against the same period a year earlier to $338.89 million.
The company said its acquisition of Freightquote.com on January 1, 2015 contributed 3.5 percentage points to its truckload net revenue growth during the quarter.
Fourth quarter less-than-truckload (LTL) net revenues rose 41.4 per cent to $89.62 million, with LTL volumes up 36 per cent. Net revenues for the intermodal segment stood at $8.84 million, down 13.7 per cent; ocean transportation net revenues decreased by 1.5 per cent to $56.07 million, and air transportation net revenues declined 4.1 per cent year on year to $18.61 million.
